Cable TV keeps getting more expensive, but making sense of your alternatives isn’t easy. Between online video services like Sling TV, DirecTV Now, and Hulu, and streaming devices like Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV, there’s a lot to decipher before you can start saving money.<\/p>\n

Technology journalist Jared<\/span> Newman<\/a> has been cable TV-free since 2008, and has documented the rise of cord<\/span>–cutting<\/span> through his popular TechHive column and his Cord<\/span> Cutter<\/span> Weekly newsletter<\/a>, which has more than 13,000 subscribers.
