Public Access Computers @ EMPL

The library has several computers available for public use. They are accessible on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors wishing to use the computers on the adult side in the Reference Department must be in the sixth grade or above. All public computers are connected to a networked monochrome laser printer. Color printing is also available. Please remember to bring your library card or identification with you when visiting the library and a USB flash drive if you need to save your work.
Hardware available: Windows XP PC with 17-inch display; USB floppy disk adapter; CD-ROM drive (read only); Color flatbed scanner; Keys-U-See Large Print Keyboard and ZoomText Magnifier (at one Database and one Internet station)
Software available: Internet Explorer-compatible web browser; Microsoft Word 2003; Microsoft
Excel 2003; Microsoft PowerPoint 2003; Microsoft Access 2003;
The East Meadow Public Library is pleased to offer wireless Internet access to our patrons. Simply bring your wireless-enabled laptop computer or other device to the Library, turn it on, and go. There is no charge to use the service and the best part is there is no waiting for an available PC!
In order to connect, your computer must have a Wi-Fi®-compatible network card installed (802.11a, 802.11b, or 802.11g). You must launch your browser and accept the Library’s Policy on Public Use of the Internet before attempting to utilize the connection.
